We receive financial support and donations from many local individuals, groups, businesses, and organisations.
For example, we've recently received support from Emmaus Rd Church, Woking Borough Council, Community Foundation for Surrey, Woking District Rotary Club, Sainsbury's, Pyrford Parish, 24-7 Prayer.
Most of our projects are run by volunteers, but this sometimes also requires infrastructure and support from various charities, organisations, and churches. Here are some examples:
WOKING FOODBANK operates as part of the Trussell Trust network of food banks. The Lighthouse works in partnership with other local churches and organisations, and the steering group is represented by members of Emmaus Rd Church, Welcome Church, and Woking Borough Council.
JIGSAW has a team of volunteers from across the community. It has received funding from Woking Council, the Guildford Diocese Bishop's Fund, Comic Relief, and Waitrose, to name a few. It also has worked with companies like Mothercare and JoJo Maman Bebe, and other organisations like Baby Basics.
FOODWISE cooking classes are delivered by staff from the charity FoodWise, a Christian based charity delivering food provision, training, and education to local communities.
JOB CLUB is part of CAP (Christians Against Poverty) and is delivered at The Lighthouse by a team from ChristChurch Woking.
REFUGEE SUPPORT we work in collaboration with Woking Borough Council's Family Support Team to assist refugees in settling in Woking, with volunteering, drop ins, and assistance seeking employment. We have also received funding from Vineyard Churches UK for this work.
LIFE COACHING is made possible through a pump-priming grant from 24-7
This isn't a conclusive list, but just some examples to demonstrate how vital partnership and collaboration is.
We are funded by the generosity and support of many individuals and organisations, but our largest contributors are Emmaus Rd Church, Woking Borough Council's Community Support Scheme, and Community Foundation for Surrey.
