Our projects are incredibly varied. The common theme that ties them all together is that we want to positively contribute to the lives of others...in whatever shape this may take. Collectively we serve the community of Woking.
Providing three days worth of emergency food for local people in crisis referred via frontline professionals and charities.
Teaching people to cook healthy meals on a budget every Monday. Nutrition, imparting self-confidence, and providing community.
Volunteers providing tea and coffee in the town centre to night revelers, also engaging in spiritual conversations and praying with people.
Providing pre-school children with good quality pre-owned clothing, toys, and equipment for free. Showing God's love in a practical way.
Supporting out-of-work women into employment by providing interview clothing, coaching, and job-searching.
Gathering creatives together to produce inspired pieces of art using a range of materials and techniques. Fun and free.
LUMINA / Bible Study
Providing spiritual insight and listening offering prayer and support. Also regular bible study for those seeking to learn more about Jesus.
A funky not-for-profit coffee house, serving great coffee, with the proceeds supporting the work of The Lighthouse
Teaching people to bake bread every Thursday morning. A therapeutic process, often resulting in a shared community lunch of soup and bread.
Offering practical help in seeking employment. Get support and gain the tools needed to find work, through courses and individual coaching.
Lighthouse Life Coaching
Our life coaches can help you figure out what you want in life, explore options, create goals, and a greater sense of purpose.
We are funded by the generosity and support of many individuals and organisations, but our largest contributors are Emmaus Rd Church, Woking Borough Council's Community Support Scheme, and Community Foundation for Surrey.
HOW IT WORKS
The wide variety of projects at The Lighthouse are only made possible through the partnership, collaboration, support and engagement of many local organisations, churches, groups, and individuals.
